Elaboration of Poire William Reserve Williamine Morand

Poire William Reserve Williamine Morand

Distillerie Morand

In 1889 Louis Morand founded the Morand Distillery. He created the Grand-St-Bernard, a liqueur made from the plants and honey of the Alps. He distilled an absinthe that quickly won him acclaim and fame. He also created syrups and lemonades.

Later André Morand, Louis' son, had a stroke of genius. Drawing from the extraordinary quality of the Valais Williams pears, he created an eau de vie and creates its own brand. The Williamine is born!

In 1958 Louis Morand took over from his father, André. Leading the family business for over 50 years, he establised a culture of rigorous quality that underpins the reputation of all its products. Thanks to his efforts, the Williamine name has become the international gold standard in pear eau de vie.
