TASTING NOTES OF 2012 Marquês de Marialva Baga Reserva:

- Nose: aromas of sap, red fruit jam, toast and mocha shades.
- Mouth: fruity, elegant and soft, high-volume, long finish.
VINES: Adega de Cantanhede
AGEING: 9 months in French oak barrels and a minimum of 3 months after bottling.
PREPARATION: Total de-stemming, alcoholic fermentation at 28 °C and a smooth, extended maceration.
PAIRING: roasted or braised red meat, game and semi-hard cheeses.
TEMPERATURE: 18 °C
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.5%

The colour was rather dark red. The Bairrada smells like cherry, licorice. A soft, fresh wine.
