Pio Cesare Barbaresco 2014

Very classic Barbaresco style: elegance and velvety, with ripe and spicy fruit. Strong tannins but elegant. Good structure and concentration.

Pio Cesare Barbaresco 2014

Barbaresco 2014 PIO CESARE
The family owns 70 hectares of vineyards in particularly suited exhibitions.

The official classification of the vineyards - Additional Geographical mentions - was completed in 2010 for Barolo. For the Barbaresco, however, ended in 2007. Each of the vineyards in the Barolo and Barbaresco area is proudly included in the list of Geographical Additional mentions.

Choosing to have the vineyards located in different areas is not random. E 'in fact determined by the desire to melt and mix the different characteristics of each vineyard and each zone. This, of course, to produce wines representative of the style of all the terroirs of each denomination.

This winery is one of the few remaining in the historic center of the city of Alba. Built at the end of '700, it is covered and bounded by the Roman Ancient Walls of Alba Pompeia walls, which are the foundations and are visible in every corner of it.
Stainless. About 25/30 days of maceration on the skins.
In barrels for about 30 months and a small part in barriques.
Tasting Notes
A very classic style Barbaresco elegance and finesse, ripe and spicy fruit, mix with tannins present but not above it. Good structure and concentration. Long life.

Barbaresco is a great wine in itself and should not be belittled with the base name or generic only because it is not indicated on the label any vineyard or subzone.

Alc. 13, 5% vol.

Deep red colour. Powerful and structured on the nose with notes of ripe fruit and slightly spicy. Elegant with ripe and spicy fruit, great depth and complexity. The mild and ripe tannins provide this wine with gentleness and finesse, but also strength and opulence.

I ordered the 2015 at Uvinum.
A wine with a high layer and a nice cherry colour. Smells good, licorice and violet aromas. A little bit salty but it was very good.

The Pio Cesare Barbaresco has a red cherry colour. It had a wonderful aroma of cherry and red fruit. It was light but tasted like blackberries.
A wine of Pio Cesare will improve any meal.
Good wine and good company.
