The G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe 2015 has been ranked No. 48 in the ranking of the 100 best wines 2019 by Wine Spectator.

The name of this wine is a tribute to the dawn of the three vineyards - Fossati, Coste di Vergne and La Volta - from which the grapes Nebbiolo used to make this Barolo of the house G.D. Vajra come. It is a traditional, elegant, refined and balanced product of Barolo. The critics of Wine Spectator were convinced by the delicate notes of rose, cherry, raspberry and mint and the delicious mineral note, which meets the sense of smell. In the mouth, the soft and harmonious structure is enriched by aromas of orange peel and tobacco.

The company G.D. Vajra was founded in 1972 by Aldo Vaira and his wife Milena. The winery has always been a family business and has become one of the great names of Barolo thanks to its passion and respect for the territory. The vineyards are cultivated in a sustainable way and the harvest is exclusively manual, with a selection of the best grapes in the vineyard.

I think The G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe 2015 is awesome

Reviews of other vintages of 2015 G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe201120142013

4/5

A true Barolo di Barolo, Albe is a blend of grapes from three di erent vineyards at three di erent altitudes. Every morning the sun rises from one vineyard to another creating a symphony for the senses just like the wine produced from these blocks. is is a Barolo of great character and re ned balance, where beautiful aromas, re ned equilibrium and ripe tannins, come together in perfect harmony.

The best one to enjoy it with a good "Serrano ham". I tried it during a wine tasting.
Very light flavour. Nice smell of wood (cedar). I think it was correct.

The Vajra Barolo Albe is the wine I always buy.
Its intense colour attracted me. When you smell it you can note aromas such as licorice, violet, .... I noticed a licorice flavour.
