Giovanni Rosso Barolo Cerretta 2014

Darker soils than the Serralunga, with more clay, and bigger, more compact berries. Aromas of black cherry and florest floor an the nose, leading to a core of purple fruit on the palate, with finely grained tannins and a mineral spine. Structured and opulent. Drink 2022+

6 X Giovanni Rosso Barolo Cerretta Piedmont 2014

Intense red Bordeaux. Aromas of toffee. On the palate was quite thick.
A good Giovanni Rosso who goes well with beef stew.
I had tried 6 X Giovanni Rosso Barolo Cerretta Piedmont with some wine enthusiasts.

Giovanni Rosso Barolo Cerretta 2014

I visited the winery and bought it a few bottles there.
Red wine with reddish brown edges. The smell of this Giovanni Rosso Barolo Cerretta reminds me somehow a menthol candy. It would have been better if it had been cooler than it was. Our fault.

Concentrated and bright garnet color. Bouquet: violets, roses and cherry fruit with notes of coffee and layers of complexity. The palate shows a wealth of Serralunga characteristics: full body, silky tannins, complexity and freshness. Bright red fruits combine with savoury, earthy flavours, a complete structure and a long finish.
