Barolo is the most fascinating of all Pio Cesare wines and has an air of aristocracy and a dominant personality. However, the Barolo is rich in hidden nuances enjoyed by those who take the time to savor the wine. Pio Cesare Barolo is intentionally "traditional" austere and important, and a wine that approached carefully.

The bright color is an intense garnet with orange reflections. The bouquet is ethereal, with hints of violets, blackberry jam, licorice and cloves. The palate is dry and austere, with long tannins. The wine ends with a concentrated long finish accompanied by a lingering touch of almonds.

A monumental Barolo. The taste pretty powerful but velvety and soft, nicely balanced, with great finesse and fine tannins after. The Nebbiolo grapes for Barolo come from the most beautiful slopes of the region. The Barolo Pio Cesare is broad and complex, powerful, herbs, roses, earthy, truffle and bay, taste pretty powerful but velvety and soft, nicely balanced, with great finesse and fine tannins after. Magnificent in venison or hare stew, mature cheeses, but also delicious as wine after a nice meal. Parker got 95 points

Pio Cesare Barolo 2014

Barolo Pio Cesare is a blend of the best wines from Barolo Pio Cesare owned cru: Ornate in Serralunga d'Alba, Gustava in Grinzane Cavour, Roncaglie in La Morra and Ravera in Barolo. Nebbiolo gets ripe in different conditions in these cru and thus the wine has some diversity. Pio Cesare Barolo is the blend of these cru with the aim to create a complete wine exploiting the different characteristics of the different Pio Cesare cru. Nebbiolo is manually harvested and taken to the cellar for about 20 days of fermentation and maceration at a temperature of 28 º C. Barolo Pio Cesare is separated from the skins and placed in wooden barrels and casks for 3 years of aeging to which they follow two in steel after blrnding. After 5 years from harvesting Barolo Pio Cesare is bottled and released on the market.

Ruby red in colour with excellent balance and a wonderfully long length. Full of dark cherries, smoke, savoury herbs and a hit of white pepper. Hints of licorice, orange peel and lavendar add an intriguing exoticism to this classic Barolo.
