Brasserie Grain d'Orge

The young Benoît Johnen learned the art of brewing in the brasserie Piron d’Aubel. In 1997, the self-named "bièrophile" took over the local café and started his own brasserie, Brasserie Grain d'Orge. Only a few years later he was ready to build his own brewery, in 2000. The brand's first beers were the 'Brice', 'Joup', but also the 3 Schtèng and the d'Aubel beers. The brewery grew fast from producing very few to 750 hl in 2007 and already 1500 hl in 2013.

The Grain d'Orge Cuvée 1898 is a blonde character brought to you by Brasserie Grain d'Orge. The master brewers in barley grain have found an old beer recipe from 1898, year of creation of the Brasserie. They decided to share it with you by offering you this Orge Cuvée 1898. This lager Grain grading 8, 5 ° is brewed high fermentation and from 3 varieties of carefully selected malts. Two barley malts and wheat between so here in action. The Grain d'Orge Cuvée 1898 is a beer in amber color and is covered with a white foam ventilated but persistent. It releases in glass of malt aromas of caramel, fruits accompanied its herbaceous touches evoking hops. There is a mouth also focused on soft and sweet flavors of malt. Notes of caramel and dried fruit are followed by fruit and alcohol keys. Slight herbal notes recall the presence of hops while the slight bitterness that develops in the finish confirms.
