Mikkeller

Math and physics teacher in denmark during by day, beer-enthusiast by night. That was Mikkel Borg Bjergso before he had the idea of brewing beer himself. He didn't have to wait long for success. Inspired by the American craft beer hype he and his friend, Kristian Keller, studied several books on that topic and soon developped their own recipes. In 2005, his brother opened a beer shop. That was Mikkel's possibility to sell and distribute his own brewings. The big break-through followed soon after. Today Mikkel exports his beer to 40 countries. But as he lacks of an own brewery, he approaches the famous Proef Brouwerij in Belgium for brewing his recipes.

An eccentric name, chosen by Keith Shore, which since 2013 is the Artistic Director of the Danish brewery Mikkeller. The gaze is first on the light copper blond dress this IPA before being seduced by the nose. An explosive bouquet for a very hoppy beer, as one can expect from Mikkeller! We feel the intensity of hops, including the traditional Pacific Northwest followed by notes of grapefruit. orange peel aromas are also invited to the table and earthy tips and cellar. We find the caramel on the end. On the palate, it is expected to regain the intensity of the nose. It then meets stakeholder flavors of citrus, especially grapefruit, oak and mint. A touch of ginger gives a spicy character to this deeply hoppy beer. This API provides a nice bitterness in the finish, even if it is not the intensity that one would expect the views of its aromas so expressive! Bitterness seems to come more herbs, pine recognizable notes, more discreet touches of sap and a hint of grapefruit peel. Remarkable flavors, while being easy to drink. Not too sweet, not too bitter, Mikkeller this offers a real taste experience!
