- Appearance: Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout 355ml is dense and opaque, very dark almost black brownish color, and small and fairly quick bubble. Its foam is pulling brownish beige, not too filling, open and soapy, leaving traces of lace.
- Aroma: The nose is malty aroma with notes of chocolate and fruity, burnt caramel, wood, resin, licorice, and a little alcohol.
- Body / Flavor: The palate is dry and quite bitter, sweet taste, with dominant toasted and roasted malt notes, and to a lesser extent chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, black licorice, black fruit, resin, smoke, wood, some alcohol and spice. Length, its texture is creamy and slightly rough. The finish is long, dry and quite bitter, mild roasted aftertaste, lasting black licorice, dark fruit, burnt caramel, wood, smoke and spice.
