The Brand

The monks from the German monastery Weihenstephan in Freising did not always brew beer. But nearly always. In 725, St. Korbinian together with 12 associates founded a ein Benedictine abbey on the mountain, Nährberg, and with it the regional art of brewing. The first hop mentioned in historic documents comes from the year 768, and probably ended up in one of the first Weihenstephaner beers. But officially the monastery started brewing beer in 1040, when abbot, Arnold, wrangled the brewing and selling right off the town, Freising.

- Nose: The first scent of flowers and herbs, with a touch of lime.
- Palate: Bavarian wheat beer, 5.4% alcohol, high fermentation, centrifuged but not filtered. Nothing is more refreshing this beer and taste wonderful bouquet due to yeast. Amber-copper color, turbid although yeast residues are not deposited on the bottom of the bottle. With a rich mousse, dense and firm, by his own lofty CO2 saturation. This complements a broad taste, creamy and very balanced. To accompany alone as an aperitif or with light meals snacks seafood and fish, as delicate taste, and of course as Bavarian breakfast: white beer with Weisswurst (Bavarian white sausage), made the Hefe Weiss.
