TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Pale yellow.
  • Nose: frank, stone fruit, citrus, white flowers and toasted notes.
  • Mouth: fresh, lively and voluminous.

APPELLATION: Bierzo.

VINEYARD: Vineyards located on the Valle del Silencio (León), more than 600 meters, on sandy clay loam-soils with a slightly acidic pH.

GRAPES: Godello.

AGING: aged for 8 months on lees in the same fermentation containers.

PREPARATION: after manual harvest, and in the hold temperature-controlled fermentation in fudres 2500 liters

PAIRING: Baked whitefish, smoked salmon, sushi rice dishes and stews.

After a long investigation for 5 years on the development of a great white wine that had the character of Bodegas Emilio Moro born white El Zarzal.
It is the youngest of the new project white wine white wine Emilio Moro in which has carried out a controlled fermentation timber with subsequent aging on lees in French oak fudres of 2.500l temperature for 8 months.
Pale, clean and bright yellow with a clean and honest nose which features a stone fruit, subtle citrus aromas and white flowers, where almost imperceptible toasted mature and adds complexity to the aromatic group.
The palate is fresh and lively, with good volume and nuances polished.

El Zarzal 2017

The two new white wines from Emilio Moro, the El Zarzal and the La Revelia and have given their lives in light year 2016. Both of them are based on the noble grape Godello and the vineyards are in the Bierzo. 2017 El Zarzal is produced with grapes from 15 year old vines in Bierzo, which are fermented in stainless steel and aged in oak casks of 2,500 liters for eight months. These are white (only) 8,818 bottles of bottled and is still a wine Editing by Emilio Moro allocation so each country gets below the line but a very limited number of bottles.

In wine shops it is usually sold quickly.
The El Zarzal is of a very pale yellow. Smells of banana and pear. The flavour of this Godello makes me happy.
