Elaboration of 2013 Pétalos del Bierzo
2013 Pétalos del Bierzo (Mencía and Alicante Bouschet)
TASTING NOTES: Pétalos del Bierzo 2013
- View: Cherry red, dense and dark.
- Nose: High aromatic intensity, black fruit, syrup, smoky, roasted, powerful.
- Mouth: Soft, elegant, sweet and mineralic, medium-bodied and persistent.
VINEYARD: Descendientes de J. Palacios
GRAPES: Mencia, Alicante Bouschet.
AGING: Ten months in French oak barrels (10% new oak barrels, 30% barrels of wine, 30% two wines barrels and 30% barrels of 3 wines).
PREPARATION: The grapes are destemmed and placed in wooden and steel vats, left open for 24 days. The malolactic fermentation was carried out in wooden vats and tanks of stainless steel closed for 2 months. Clarified and filtered.
PAIRING: Meat, mushrooms, cheeses, salads, etc.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14% Vol.
