Petalos del Bierzo 2017 returns to the market to defend, for another year running, its position as one of the best wines in the world in terms of value for money. The title was well deserved after being named by Parker as the best Spanish wine considering its characteristics and price, and remains one of the most prominent to this day.

One of its secrets is the variety from which it is made, the Mencía, which It is characterized by being amiable, easy to drink and gastronomic. Without a doubt, the success of Petalos del Bierzo 2017 is also due to the fact that the Palacios family - a name that always harks at quality, know-how and success in wine -is responsible for its production

Petals of Bierzo 2017 is, for all of theabove, an excellent way to get to know Bierzo, an area benefitting from the climatic characteristics of both Castile and Galicia, and of course the wines of Descendants of J. Palacios, inspired by the winery's principles -spiritual tradition; respect for the land and nature; and transparency in the expression of the vineyard and culture-, they offer us moments of great beauty and pleasure.

The presentation of Petals of Bierzo 2017, as an aside, follows the same design of the 2016 vintage - created by Xano Armenter -, with a slight color variation that transmits the wine's characteristic jovial and cheerful personality to the bottle.

Pétalos del Bierzo 2017

It is one of the best wines in Spain and also has a very attractive price. For me it is one of the wines of reference, that kind of wine that I always have in mind when I have guests at home or when I'm a guest in someone's home. How lucky to have a red wine with the quality seal Palacios at such a reasonable price! It is an indispensable wine in all wineries.

Petals is the wine of Alvaro Palacios in Bierzo. Color and suggests his nose: deeply aromatic. Considered a very feminine wine, all the fragrance of the olfactory phase flows into a soft palate without tannic complexity and a certain acidity. Fresh and fruity, satisfies unsophisticated palates.

Alvaro Palacios Petalos do Bierzo 2017

Besides the great success experienced in Alvaro Palacios Priorat, he started with his nephew Ricardo Pérez a new adventure: revive the wines of Bierzo. In Corullon they are 100% focused on Mencia. The Petalos is a wine that is produced from steep vineyards with old vines. The wine has a cherry red color, aromas of red and black fruit and floral notes, but also minerality. The taste has a good start, is soft, fresh and intense with spicy notes. The wine has a lovely, lingering aftertaste.

Pétalos del Bierzo 2014 is a wine of Mencia (100% Bierzo) with deep aromas that makes no effort to hide their fruitiness, reinforced with flowers (hence the petals) and herbal touches. It also has a light presence of spices. Fresh and fruity on the palate. To enjoy eating or not eating. Still you have not tried ?
