In 1990, after 10 years of research that the Burgundian acques Seysses founder of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine, combined with a Parisian friend, Michel Macaux present their estate in the Var, east of Aix en Provence. Renamed domain "Triennes" in honor of triennia, bacchanalia taking place every three years under the Roman Empire. The prefix "tri" recalls the three original partners-owners.
Convinced by their Burgundian experience that the quality of wines is the vineyard from the start and invest heavily in the renewal and maintenance of the vineyard. They seek to make refined wines, reflecting the quality of their soil.
For white and rosé, it is primarily to highlight the delicacy of the fruit and look cool. For red, the goal is to produce structured wines which combine ripe fruit with complexity, elegance and finesse.
Their motto: "We make our wines the way we like to drink them.
For the whites and the rosé, this means a constant search for freshness and aromas.
For the reds, it translates as elegance and fruit without ever falling into heaviness.
Simple winemaking without cosmetics. Wines from winemakers."
