You will like to know that…

Soberan is a brandy from Jerez. Although it has a lower alcohol content than other brandies, it manages to keep its name at a high level, thanks to its very special taste. We are talking about a product of the highest level, as well as the winery that creates it: the Gonzalez Byass.

Gonzalez Byass is the number one winery in Jerez, internationally known for the production of Tio Pepe, with a centuries-old history that has made it famous all over the world, becoming also a supplier of the Royal House. Obviously, given the prestige of the company, even the Soberano brandy could not help but be a major liqueur, thanks to the care with which it is made.

Like all great Spanish brandies, it is produced with the Solera method, respecting the typical tradition of Jerez distillation, which dates back to the time of Arab domination, the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. This lovable brandy, obtained from the grapes Palomino, matures in oak barrels, previously used for the ageing of sherry, acquiring the typical aroma of cherry. Its mahogany colour, with delicate golden reflections, its fragrance of dried fruit, and the full and light taste, make it the brandy to be tasted with taste, at any time of day.

González Byass

Gonzalez Byass was founded in 1835 when the young Manuel Maria Gonzalez Angel reached Jerez willing to take a place in the prosperous and thriving sherry business. Encouraged by the continuous development of exports, in the same year he acquired a small winery and started to produce and, finally, export sherry as well.

Drank this brandy on a visit to Spain and very impressed with its smoothness compared to most others. Tried to buy in UK but could only find Soberano 5 year at higher proof and not so smooth.. Anyway, bought 12 bottles of my preference from Uvinum which were delivered within one week. Hope I can still buy after Brexit!!
