The wines of the Canary Islands are achieving significant results and successes in overcoming the difficulties of the topography of the islands for growing grapes. All this is done by undergoing a great process of modernization of methods and technologies with the aim of achieving high quality products.

The Canary Islands have a total of eight denominations of origin, among which the ones that stand out are Tacoronte-Acentejo and Daute Ycouden Isora, which encompass hundreds of small vine-growers, noted for their white and red wines. Meanwhile, the de Abona, Valle de la Palma or the Valle de Orotava, produce white wines that help raise the name of Canarian wines.

Strains cultivated in the Canary Islands, are mainly the white varieties LIstán Blanca, Vijariego, Pedro Ximenez, Verdelho, Bastardo, Malvasia, Muscat or Burra Blanca. Among the red grapes, with less surface covered, are the Mulatto, Black Muscat and Malvasia Dorada.
