Founded in 1843, the House of Krug has been crafting its line of prestige champagnes ever since. More than 170 years ago, Krug began to release its yearly expression of champagne according to the vision set forth by founder Joseph Krug. From its portfolio full of unique and exception champagnes, the Krug Grande Cuvée is an expansive example of the craftsmanship and style of this historic brand.

It takes more than 20 years to produce one single bottle of this prestige cuvée. This is because each Krug Grande Cuvée release is a blend of about 120 different wines, sourced from 10 or more vintages and using three different varieties of grape. This cuvée may be completely recreated each year but still remains one of the top-rated champagnes in the world. After a minimum of six years spent ageing in the cellars, this exceptional cuvée is ready to be released to the public.

Deeply golden, aromatic, and flavourful, the Krug Grande Cuvée will bring elegance and generosity to any place where it is served. A champagne from a single year offers a flavour and aroma that is true to that particular year. A blend, on the other hand, can offer a new viewpoint from which to see the grapes as the blended flavours and aromas all play off of one another, making a novel and beautiful whole.

Krug Grand Cuvee

- Henri Krug said, 'Krug Grand Cuvee is as a symphony, a composition where all the instruments play together, complimenting each other in total harmony'.
- The composition of the cuvee is a stunning mosaic of flavours where the three champagne grapes, 20-25 growths and 6-10 different years, combine to give Grand Cuvee its complexity, elegance and consistency year after year, blend after blend.
The bouquet is wonderfully creamy, leading to a magical combination of weight and balance on the palate. The long, lingering finish is both nutty and toasty, ending with a final flourish of freshness.

My personal favourite champagne. Has so much more interesting flavours than your standard dry champagnes. Tiny bubbles also makes it easier to enjoy the flavours. Try it if you have never had it!. Beats most vintage champagne hands down.

Krug Gránde Cuvée

Alcohol content: 12%
Prepared Teachers assembly par excellence. Thorough tasting of different vintages, varieties and sources result in a wine of the most special of Champagne. Part of the wine is aged in small oak barrels.
Tasting notes: Surprisingly texture, delicate carbonic tinkling in the mouth tasty memories wrapped in toasted bread crumbs and hazelnuts. Very long.
