Description of Taittinger Cuvée Prestige

Taittinger Cuvée Prestige (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Taittinger Cuvée Prestige is brilliant in body and light straw in colour, with green highlights and a subtle and silky but lingering perlage.
  • Nose: Alluring and expressive aromas of brioche, peach, ripening fruit, vanilla, and white flowers.
  • Mouth: A fresh, lively, and beautifully balanced entry leads into a full creaminess with delightful tiny bubbles. There are lightly-baked orchard fruit, citrus, and honey flavours of great purity and delicacy, into a wonderfully clean and uplifting finish.

APPELLATION: Champagne

VINEYARD: Champagne Taittinger is both a globally revered champagne producer, and the name of a close-knit family, for the reason that the two are one and the same. The Taittinger family has shared one aim for around a century: it puts its own name on every bottle because it believes that each bottle marries the knowledge and craftsmanship of the past with a commitment to excellence now and in the future. The business was purchased by Crédit Agricole in 2006 but the family remains onboard.

GRAPES: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

AGEING: Three years in contact with the lees.

PREPARATION: Winner of a Gold Medal in the Champagne Masters 2017, Taittinger Cuvée Prestige is prepared using the traditional ‘méthode champenoise'. The grapes are lovingly tended on the producer's 288 hectares of vineyards and their perfect soil.

PAIRING: Whether served with prawns, rich fish, or soft cheeses; with cakes and pastries; or on its own for a celebratory toast, Taittinger Cuvée Prestige makes every occasion a special one.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 8-10°C

ALCOHOL: 12%

We had it with a birthday cake. At a friend's wedding.
Fantastic colour. Mixed aromas of yeast and bakery. This sparkling is a bit acidic. It depends on your taste.

A Taittinger Brut Prestige that was served as dessert of a good meal. My best friend from Champagne recommended it to me.
Good colour. Light aromas of yeast and bakery. The barrel leaves good flavours.
