You will like to know that…

Veuve Clicquot Brut is a Champagne produced by the legendary French wine cellar Veuve Clicquot, which has been producing premium quality sparkling wines since 1772. With such a long tradition of wine culture, it comes as no surprise that the 1893 bottle of Veuve Clicquot, which was found in the Torosay Castle, Scotland, in 2008, is now considered a real treasure.

Elaboration of Veuve Clicquot Brut

Veuve Clicquot Brut (Chardonnay, Meunier, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: A beautiful colour, golden yellow reflexes, fine foam.
  • Nose: powerful and pleasant, fruity at first (white fruits, nuts), then finally vanilla and sweet-scented bread. Ideal balance between the aromas of grape varieties (fruit) and the aromas of ageing in bottle (pastries).
  • Mouth: On the palate, the attack is frank and dynamic, then giving way to a fruity harmony. Extraordinarily aromatic with both fruity and spicy notes.

The Winery

Veuve Clicquot

Veuve Clicquot

The Champagne House Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 and taken over in 1805 by the then-widow Barbe-Nicole Clicquot. Better known as Veuve Clicquot (Widow Clicquot), not only was the 27-year-old the first woman to run a Champagne house, she is also credited with creating the first known blended rosé champagne by blending still red and white champagne wines. This process is still used today by the majority of champagne producers. She’s also said to have invented the riddling process to clarify Champagne. Madame Clicquot became known to her peers as “La Grande Dame” of Champagne.
