2017 Delas Frères Châteauneuf du Pape Haute-Pierre (Garnacha and Syrah)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: Bright garnet.
- Nose: aromas of red fruits, spices and licorice.
- Mouth: powerful, elegant, pronounced tannins and unctuous.
APPELLATION: Chateauneuf du Pape.
VINEYARD: rocky and sandy loam soil.
GRAPES: Grenache and Syrah.
AGEING: aged for 8 to 14 months in oak barrels.
PREPARATION: After harvesting, the grapes are crushed, de-stemmed and fermented in open concrete tanks for ten days. Maceration lasts eight to ten days to obtain a high extraction of flavors and carbolic acid. After husking and pressing, malolactic fermentation occurs in tanks. The wine is extracted under aeration to allow natural stabilization takes place.
WINE PAIRING: casseroles, red meat and beef ragout.
