Hennessy V.S. is the world's most popular cognac. The V.S. in the name stands for "Very Special". According to law, only eaux-de-vie that are a minimum of two years old can be used in the blend to make a V.S. cognac. Hennessey V.S. is a modern version of their classic 3-Star Cognac.
Made using Ugni Blanc grapes from the world-famous Cognac region of France, this is a great spirit for everyday drinking. Once the grapes are processed and left to age in French oak barrels for at least two years, a selection of about 40 different eaux-de-vie are blended to create the mouth-watering product that has come to be known around the world as Hennessy V.S. This truly is a very special product for very special moments.
In 1765, an Irish aristocrat named Richard Hennessy founded the House of Hennessy in France. He set up this business in the Cognac region with the plan to export brandy back to his native Ireland and the United Kingdom. A short time later, in 1792, Hennessy began to ship the brandies to the USA. Since then, Hennessy has remained a favourite in the USA, which from among all of the different countries the brand exports to, is one of the biggest markets for Hennessy worldwide.

Only the finest spirits can aspire to become V.S. or "very special" and start to mature in French oak barrels for a minimum of two and a maximum of eight years. In over 250 years, the distillery founded by Richard Hennessy has produced hundreds of thousands of bottles of premium liquors, and today can boast a total annual production approaching 50 million units. Hennessy V.S. should be served at room temperature. It also works well in cocktails.
In 1765, Richard Hennessy, an Irish aristocrat in the service of France, founded in the Cognac region a trading house of spirits. His son Jacques would then give a quick boost to the company. Since then, the history of cognac has never ceased to be written with Hennessy.More about the Producer
