2016 Rectorie L'Argile (Garnacha blanca and Garnacha gris)
- View: 2016 Rectorie L'Argile has an enchanting rose gold colour.
- Nose: Buttery feeling on the nose, with fresh, citrus aromas, combined with anise, pepper, stone fruit, and melons.
- Mouth: Creamy, but fresh on the palate, with a medium body. Melon notes on the mouth, with a spicy undertone from the oak. The finish is elegant and lingering.
VINEYARD: Domaine de la Rectorie. With a history that dates back to 1984, this family business has infused a long line of experience into the crafting of high-quality wines. With climate change, the vineyard has taken a more natural approach to the agriculture, favouring the lands protected from excess heat. This has allowed for the cultivation of more resistant vines, producing grapes full of flavour.
GRAPES: 90% Grenache gris, and 10% Grenache blanc.
AGEING: Ager for eight months directly on its lees.
PREPARATION: After harvesting, the grapes are directly pressed and fermented in oak barrels with a strict battonage schedule. The must is stirred every day while in the fermentation stage, and once completed, it is done once a week. The last three months prior to bottling, the wine is left unstirred to enhance its character.
PAIRING: Perfect to be served with fish, white meat, and cow or sheep hard cheese.
RIGHT SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10-12°C
