M. Chapoutier Côtes-du-Rhône Red 2018

Garnet red. Red fruit aromas, mainly Morello cherries. Well-structured, with sustained tannins on the palate.

- Colour: Garnet red.
- Nose: Red fruit aromas, mainly Morello cherries.
- Mouth: Aromas of red fruits (mainly morello cherries) and spices (liquorice, grey pepper).
- Soil: The vineyards of the red Cotes du Rhone Belleruche covers 4 departments (Drome,Vaucluse, Gard and Ardeche) on different soils (clay and calcareous alluvial deposit terraces, clay?) giving to the Belleruche an extraordinary richness and complexity.
- Harvesting: The grapes are harvested at good maturity.
- Matching food with wines: This wine has a great structure with firm and silky tannins.
- Vinification: Ageing is performed in vats with regular pumping over in order to clarify the wine.
- Maturing: The wine is aged in vats to devellop a good expression of the fruits. It is assembled at the end of spring.

Violet red colour of a young wine. Pretty aromas of nuts.Predominating aromas of red fruits.
I would have accompanied it with a fatty fish.
Me and my clients from Côtes Du Rhône tasted it together.
