Quinta da Falorca Touriga Nacional 2011

The combination of power, finesse and elegance makes this a very seductive wine. The wine needs time and can continue to improve over the years and we therefore recommend the first bottle to open until 2018, but they may also hesitate to continue to 2035+ in the basement (but why would you do that). The wine is best compared with a pretty solid red top Burgundy but this is only a fraction of the price. The wine has an impressive cherry red color with a violet edge. The extraordinarily vibrant bouquet smells of black cherries, blackberries, blueberries and spoils the nose with floral aromas, hints of herbs, spices and fragrant vataroma such as cocoa, toast and espresso. That's no ifs and buts the level of a grand cru.

Quinta Vale das Escadinhas, well known for its wines Quinta da Falorca, has a connection to viticulture with more than 100 years. Until 1963, the grapes were transformed in stone mills and then sold in bulk. From 1964 to 1998, the grapes began to be delivered to the Adega Cooperativa de Silgueiros. After 1999, the new generation of the family began bottling and marketing of its own brands, thereby strengthening the bond that always had to viticulture and the demarcated region of Dão.

This monovarietal, Quinta da Falorca Touriga Nacional 2010, is a result of the crushing and complete stemming of grapes, maceration and fermentation in steel vats with low capacity, selected yeasts, temperature control and soflty pumped over wine process.
Staged in steel vats, passing through oak barrels, 50% new french oak during 18 months, followed by a bottled time period.

Aroma of fruit and violets, a very elegant bouquet. In the palate it is still very fruity, very well balanced and harmonious, with well tamed tannins, very correct, elegante and refined.
