VINEYARD: Adega Vila Real. These grapes were grown in the beautiful region of Douro, Portugal. While Douro is best known worldwide for its production of port wines, the region also has an ideal climate for producing sophisticated wines from a wide array of grape varieties. The area is relatively sheltered from the chilly Atlantic Ocean because of the Marão and Montemuro mountains, creating a climate that experiences cool winters and hot, dry summers.
GRAPES: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional
AGEING: A relatively young wine aged in stainless steel tanks.
PREPARATION: The grapes are entirely hand-picked. After arriving at the vineyard, the grapes are immediately destemmed and pressed before being placed in vats for fermentation. PAIRING: Steak, roast beef, venison, barbecue, pasta with red sauces.
RIGHT SERVING TEMPERATURE: 15°C
