Michele Chiarlo The company was founded in 1956 by Michele Chiarlo in Calamandrana in the heart of the Asti, producing the first vintage of Barolo in 1958.
During the years following the cellar, under strictly family run, developed significantly, thanks to the important purchases made in the best areas of the Langhe, clinching, in 1987 and in 1989, land Cerequio and Cannubi.
Today the company is spread over about 110 hectares of vineyards, of which 60 are owned and the remaining 50 with long-term rental contracts, giving rise to just over one million bottles.
The management is entrusted to the children of Michael, Alberto and Stefano: the first deals with the commercial development, while the second is winemaker.
The fundamental objective is pursued by Michele Chiarlo is sustainability, a concept dear to the family since the '90s, when he began the first IPM applications, selective pesticides and more natural practices.
A virtuous path, which is renewed over time: in 2007 it has begun a project, recognized by the Ministry of Environment, which aims at the total sustainability of the supply chain up to the consumer's table.
