Sikkim premium gins are brought to us from Spain. The Sikkim Gin company puts its focus on innovation and those more select palates. Sikkim Bilberry is made using a base of red tea from Sikkim, an Indian state which borders on Nepal and Tibet. This is also what inspired the name of this gin as some of the best teas in the world are grown in this region. To this high-quality red tea are added the best grains, juniper, and floral essences. This combination is the foundation of all of the Sikkim gins.
Blackberries, blueberries, coriander, iris, calamus, and bitter orange skin are added to the other ingredients to create the special flavour combination for Sikkim Bilberry . The oldest copper stills in Spain, which were built in 1875, are used to distill this gin until what is left is a perfect blend of alcohol and aroma.
Not only noteworthy for its eye-catching bottle, but also for the crisp and cool flavour of this aromatic gin, it is perfect for use in gin and tonics. Sikkim Bilberry will sharpen and refresh your palate between meals. Garnish it with fresh berries to bring out its fruity side. Be creative! A gin this good is open to experimentation.
Description · Sikkim
- Colour: Transparent with an attractive lavender blue tint.
- Aroma: Coriander, iris, and orange zest add notes to a generally floral and almost Parma Violet nose.
- Taste: Berry sherbet, currants, grass, floral notes, and a subtle maltiness behind the fruit make this an unusual and delicious sip of gin. The citrus and red tea at its heart come through fully in a slightly dry finish that makes you want to take another sip immediately.
PRODUCER: Sikkim Gin. Sikkim is the most sparsely-populated Indian state, sitting at the feet of the Himalayan mountains. It skirts the nation of Tibet, where grows the special red tea which forms the basis of the Sikkim gin range, along with British gin. The spirits are distilled many times using the oldest known Spanish copper stills.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: The shape of the Sikkim Bilberry bottle, the colour of Parma Violet sweets, was inspired by a Parisian perfume bottle from 1920: elegant and beautifully crafted, like this award-winning gin itself. In addition to Sikkim Gin's signature Tibetan red tea, Sikkim Bilberry is also crafted with blackberries, blueberries, calamus, coriander, floral essences, iris, juniper, and bitter orange skin. The pretty bluish tint lends a fresh and floral appearance to a gin and tonic, but the distinctive and gorgeous taste makes your ordinary G&T a thing of the past.
