The Winery

Château Citran

Walking through the castle grounds, it is evident that the history of it dates back far beyond the 1855 classification. Citran is indeed one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. The Marquis de Donissan, allied to the family several times in France, have ruled here for 600 years and have abandoned their castle in the middle of the XIX century. Since then the management of the castle wine has undergone various contingencies.

4/5

I drank it at a bar in Haut-Médoc.
Red with violet edges. Smell like nuts, like it. Very light and pleasant wine in the mouth.

It can be found in some gourmet shops.
Red with purple highlights. If you are a fan of red fruit compote, then this wine is perfect for you. I liked the acidity of 2016.

This wine discloses a great flower smell. As I'm not really a fan of red wine, I noticed a plane taste on the palate.
A very good wine.
