A large Growth.
The castle tower the book covers an area of 72 hectares, planted with 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc. The age of the vines acquired by Bernard Magrez in 1999 is more than 30 years. Haut Médoc wines are characterized by their generosity, but without excessive power. They generally have good skills to custody.

Reviews about Château La Tour Carnet 2012

The Château La Tour Carnet is the oldest castle of the Medoc. Belonging to Bernard Magrez today, it was the property of Eleanor, sister of Michel de Montaigne. Its current owner began a general refurbishment program, namely the winery, the vineyard but also at the castle.
The 75 hectares of La Tour Carnet stretch for South / South-West facing slopes. The vines of the vineyard is composed of 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc 6% and 3% Petit Verdot.
The wines are aged in barrels (60% new) for 18 months.
This 2012 vintage is indeed the proof of the hard work of Bernard Magrez to change this Haut-Médoc among the greatest. Elegant and roundness, it offers a light fruity, in the right measure. This will soften with time.
Probably one of the best quality / price of the Médoc.

My boss gifted to me.
The reddish brown edges were not very nice. Definitely the wrong colour, although it was an acceptable wine. This Château La Tour Carnet offers predominating notes of berries and red fruits . Very light, pleasent.
It wasn't well paired with food, but the wine was good and tasty.
