2015 Ashbourne Pinotage (Pinotage)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Intense red color.
  • Nose: There is a minty rise in the nose of this wine, but it also looks like a little licorice and thick in feeling.
  • Mouth: Notes of fresh fennel and herbs rooibos contribute to their high character, which counteracts the densest notes of plum skin, pressing carnation and sweet spices. It is large and concentrated on the palate with firm tannins and dry skin flavors of black fruit with tones of licorice, bush and tree bark.

Ashbourne Pinotage 2015

From the maiden release in 2001, this benchmark wine has redefined South AfricaÕs own red grape variety, Pinotage, with its classic, refined styling and unique complex character. This is a wine unlike anything else, intense, rich and savoury with a beautiful underlying minerality
