Made from grapes grown in old Monastrell vineyards (whose vines were planted back in 1941), this Jumilla wine is one that makes its Designation of Origin stand out, thanks to its excellent quality. This Casa Castillo Pie Franco 2016 is a wine which harnesses the concentration and power of the soil, benefitting from the wine-growing lands of Casa Castillo, experts in bringing out the elegance of their product. The vines used in its production grow on La Solana estate on the Jumilla high plateau, surrounded by almond and olive groves, pine forests and hills, comprising many hectares of low-yield land. As a result, each vintage of this single-estate wine is exclusive and limited in production, an outstanding wine to enchant even the most demanding palates.

"Casa Castillo is the largest wine producer in southeastern Spain, and Monastrell Pie Franco, pure, is one of the best Spanish wines. Pie Franco 2016 was aged for 18 months and bottled in February 2012. It is dense, meaty, spiced and must be opened before tasting to enjoy optimal ventilation. it develops slowly and could be the successor to the 2006, with a texture of fine tannins, notes of Mediterranean herbs and a long finish.
