For more than 180 years, the company has been producing and distributing its special Ponche Caballero from its home in El Puerto de Santa María in Andalucia. PRODUCER: The Luis Caballero S.A. was founded in 1830. This winery and distillery produce a wide variety of products, including wine, liqueurs, and other spirits. Many of the recipes, including for the Ponche Caballero 1L have gone unchanged for most of the company's long history.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: This is a brandy-based liqueur. Brandies are made from distilled wine, which gives off flavours of dark fruits. Since this drink has many oak spice flavours and scents, it is likely that the wine which was distilled was also aged in oak barrels. To become a liqueur, the brandy had to have added sugars, water, and flavourings from natural botanicals. The recipe for this drink has remained the same for over 100 years.
Currently Luis Caballero SA is present in more than 50 countries, with 125 employees, generating a turnover of more than 53 million euros.More about the Producer
