Macon, a small city in central France, south of the Burgundy wine region in France, west of the Saône river.

It is the largest producing area of white wine in Burgundy, although it used to be famous for its reds. The whites from Mâcon are dry and light. The reds are fruity.

With Limestone and Chalk soils, it is ideal for the grapes used : Pinot Noir and Gamay for the reds and Chardonnay for the whites. The whites are great with Oysters, Chicken, Asparagus and Cold meat.
