Tasting Notes: A dry refreshing Madeira. A pale light bodied wine with a distinctive nutty nose. Serving at: An excellent aperitif which can also be enjoyed chilled. We recommend with: Ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to consommes, pates or cakes. It is also well matched with smoked fish. Since the 15th century the Henriques were the largest landowners in the Câmara de Lobos area in Madeira Island. It was there, on 1425, that the first vines were planted, following the orders of Prince Henry the Navigator. The initial planting was made on the slopes of Pico da torre, which belonged to the Henriques, and up the rift valleys of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and Quinta Grande, which are traditionally considered to produce the best Madeira Wine.
