1999 Alter Ego de Palmer (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon)

In the glass, the wine offers an intensely brilliant ruby color.

The expressive bouquet is a blend of blueberries and blackberries with hints of cloves and vanilla. After aeration, candied fruits, coco and light smoky notes appear.

The richness of the vintage makes a striking first impression: very ripe fruit surrounds a silky tannin structure that develops with to an impeccable acidity. The wine distinguishes itself by its richness, body and intense flavor. The balance is defined and controlled; remarkably delicious.

This 1999 is a success. The noble terroir shows in this harmonious, expressive and perfectly mastered wine. Served at 17 degrees, decanted two hours before serving, the wine will remain impeccable until 2015.

I love to sharing this wine with friends.
Red as a Cherry. Sure smell of gooseberries. I think it was a little bit salty.
A Alter Ego de Palmer that we had as a dessert of a good meal.
