Elaboration of 2002 Château Brane-Cantenac

2002 Château Brane-Cantenac (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: A very dark purple color with violet tones.
  • Nose: The nose intensely aromatic fragrance of spices, balsamic (pine resin) and oak notes, besides snuff and licorice.
  • Palate: A full attack on the palate. A structure of dense but silky tannins.

A lingering finish, a bit austere, but the weight of the body of the wine can be felt. . .

In the best case requires between 7 and 30 years. 1-2 hours should be aerated before being served

The Winery

Château Brane-Cantenac

Château Brane-Cantenac

As a living, constantly evolving product, a great wine requires attention, patience and a certain degree of experience. Since 1992, Henri Lurton has made it his aim to produce each year the best wine possible while remaining faithful to the outstanding, historic terroir of Brane. Since 1997, a new, spacious vat cellar, modern wine-making techniques and a new team have enabled him to rise to this challenge.

The 2013 vintage will be predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (68%) of their ripeness. A fruity nose for a smooth attack, Brane-Cantenac 2013, expressed in length. A structured wine that will improve with breeding.

Drink or keep: 2016-2025
PAIRING: Guinea fowl or partridge roasted with sweet spices

I had it with a birthday cake. Someone let me try it.
Very dark Bordeaux colour. Aromas of toffee. Toffee and coffee flavours.

Red almost purple. Sensual aromas of cherries. Very clear taste of raspberries.
We had it with a deer stew.
I took it with a connoisseur of wines.
