Château Lascombes 2011

The estate (Lascombes) has old vines and very good grapes on a land of value. Its wines are renowned for their quality, so superior that they can compete with the Château Margaux. The winery and harvests have been modernized, and a complete soil survey of the 84 hectares of the château Lascombes was conducted. Located in the commune of Margaux, the château has today the advices of the famous consultant, Michel Rolland.

It's the typical wine, me and my friends order for dinner.
Amazing cherry colour. Delicious scents of raspberry. This wine is somehow airy, i liked it.

Château Lascombes 2011

The vineyard of Château Lascombes is 112 hectares of vineyards in Margaux and 6 hectares in Haut-Médoc appellation. It is today one of the largest vineyards of classified wines of 1855. The vineyard occupies Château Lascombes of the most popular fields of Margaux, it boasts a variety of original soil for the appellation. The vineyard is divided into three distinct, area roughly equivalent: a gravelly bringing the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, clay gravel or planted Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, finally clay-limestone plots where Merlot s 'perfectly expresses; Besides this grape dominates the plantings of vineyards half, originality compared to other wines of Margaux.

Ranked second vintage in 1855, Chateau Lascombes, located in the Margaux appellation, named after its first owner Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes, born in 1625. At the end of the 18th, Jean-François de Lascombes, advised the parliament of Bordeaux seeks through his fortune to make a great wine Lascombes. The President of the Bar Chaix d'Est Ange built the present castle in 1867. Alexis Lichine took over the property in 1952. He completely restructured Château Lascombes and renovated the wine facilities, giving this Grand Cru a second wind. In 1971, he sold all the English brewer Bass-Charrington. Since its purchase in 2001 by the Colony Capital group, a new era begins for the domain.

TASTING NOTES OF 2016 Château Lascombes:
- View: blackish purple.
- Nose: aromas of roasted fruit and smoke.
- Mouth: notes of black cherry, with great concentration, hints of mint, spices, firm tannins and a chewy texture.

APPELLATION: Margaux.

GRAPES: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.5%

We tested this Château Lascombes with my club mates.
Bright red and purple reflections. Tea aromas. Voluptuous in the mouth.
Did not seem well with fish, I would have preferred a vegetable stew.

I tried it in a bar.
Red ruby colour with reddish brown tinges. Fantastic smell of roses. The wine was ok.
