Description · Château Margaux

1989 Château Margaux (Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc)

A wine from a remarkable vintage, at the time the earliest harvest since 1893. This hasa mature appearance, a little tawny at the rim. Ah, but what a delightful nose! Deep, minerally, meaty, iron filings, stylish and in possession of depth, and yet light and lifted at the same time. Evolved and very seductive, fine and displaying great balance on the palate. Very complete, still showing a firm tannic backbone but with a lovely composition of mature fruit and acidity. A touch creamy, really very fine, but also upright and rather aloof. This is divine, and yet has so much to offer still. It will improve over another five to ten years yet I think.

Château Margaux

It is difficult to sum up in a few lines the long and splendid history of the estate. It could perhaps be entitled 'There was once an estate called Château Margaux'. It was already known in the 12th century and at that time had the name 'La Mothe de Margaux' but there were not yet any vines. In...

Château Margaux 1989

TASTING:
- View: dark red, medium intensity with a slight change
- Nose: is sharp, medium intensity, with hints of toast and coffee

Average on 20: 17. 5
2002-06 bottled in a particular

A bustle is crisp, intense, fine and fruity
The set is somewhat fluid, but the flavor is there, as the balance, but the register lacks a bit of flesh and sun
Long finish tannic marked by some new wood
Note that during the meal and aeration, this wine takes on a nobler dimension and note progress
I suggest to decant it an hour before serving
A drink before 2015-2020.

Château 1989

The border colour was almost brown . The main aromas were coffee and wood. Good flavour, with hints of caramel.
A accompanying us from starters to dessert.
The best friend from Bordeaux.

We had it with a tart. Drinking it with friends is always a pleasure.
It had a deep colour at first sight. The 2017 smells like violets. I like the slight roughness it leaves you on the mouth.

Margaux Margaux 2016
Nice red Bordeaux colour. This 2016 has a toffee aftertaste. It reminded me of black plums.
The Margaux Margaux is the ideal wine to pair it with wild boar sausages.
It was part of a wine tasting.
