Château Margaux

It is difficult to sum up in a few lines the long and splendid history of the estate. It could perhaps be entitled 'There was once an estate called Château Margaux'. It was already known in the 12th century and at that time had the name 'La Mothe de Margaux' but there were not yet any vines. In...

Château Margaux 2002

Château Margaux is a vineyard in the Bordeaux region in France and, within it, belongs to the Médoc. The wine is aged in brand new French oak. The first 12 months aged in the great ship of sober white columns and then down to the underground wine cellar where he stayed another 12 months in barrel.

Château Margaux 2002

Merlot productions, especially from old vines, were severely affected by the onset of coulure (fallen flower) and in particular millerandage (arrested development of the grapes). We might have thought that a relatively low production have allowed the grapes to reach higher levels of maturity; however, the good weather came too late for the Merlot, whose maturity was too late to catch up. The quality of the Merlot was generally disappointing. Moreover, the Cabernets and Petit Verdot benefited from this Indian summer, which so often produces very good, great vintages in Bordeaux. Their quality was generally remarkable. Our final blend, therefore, includes very little Merlot (it may be provided the lowest in the history of Château Margaux). So this is essentially a wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon good, pure, rich, and sensitive closed. It may lack some complexity and depth to be considered a great vintage. Weather September very good can surely make up most of the lost ground, but can not fully replace the maturity that was achieved during the glorious Agosto. Now. Chateau Margaux has acquired even more finesse, without losing its classic closed tannic structure which bodes excellent aging.

We had it with a tart. Drinking it with friends is always a pleasure.
It had a deep colour at first sight. The 2017 smells like violets. I like the slight roughness it leaves you on the mouth.

Margaux Margaux 2016
Nice red Bordeaux colour. This 2016 has a toffee aftertaste. It reminded me of black plums.
The Margaux Margaux is the ideal wine to pair it with wild boar sausages.
It was part of a wine tasting.

Chateau Margaux 1º Cru 2015
The best of the meal was this wine. Me and my partner, we celebrated the anniversary of our first kiss with Chateau Margaux 1º Cru.
Especially its colour pleased me . Strong scents of coffee and toffee. I noticed a raspberry flavour.

I was lucky enough to try it with a client.
Intense ruby red, high layer. Scent of violets and liquorice. Sweet taste, fruity.
I took the Château Margaux wine with grilled vegetables.
