A forward-looking wine that evolves over time, Chateau Rauzan Segla 2015 is incredible. Although still young, it is a full-bodied wine, with a tannin structure aged for decades. Chateau Rauzan Segla 2015 is a wine with great aromatic expressiveness of flowers, fruit, spices, licorice, and sweet blackberries. In the mouth, it has a silky texture, fresh and with notes of persistent minerality. This wine has been made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec grapes, which give it that deep, concentrated, and delicious character, ideal to pair with red meats and roasts. Château Rauzan-Segla 2015

2015 - Non contractual picture. A huge success in this great vintage in Margaux.
Beautiful floral nose, developing into the powder, classic Margaux perspective already a lot of length.
Faithful to its strength, raw played in 2015 on the elegance of its material. The silky, velvety are preserved with a heart very full mouth.
This superb 2nd Cru Classé Margaux, already famous in the 18th century, entered the fold of the Wertheimer family (Chanel) in 1994. A classic Margaux, sleek and stylish, with a nice freshness and tannic righteousness bringing each vintage further in time. Domaine Château Rauzan Ségla: In 1661 a large area was constituted by the wealthy merchant Peter Desmezures Rauzan which as custom wishes, gave it his name. The estate remained in the family until it split in 1763. Some became good Lord Gassies and the other that of Baron Ségla. Under the leadership of Emperor Napoleon III, the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce decided to classify the great chateaux of Bordeaux as their quality in order to present them to the World Exhibition in Paris. The efforts of several generations are well rewarded: Château Rauzan-Ségla tops the Second Cru Sort, just behind the Chateau Mouton Rothschild (second classified growth at that time). The estate remained in the family until 1866 Ségla, when it was sold to Mr. Durand-Dassiers. His son, Frederick Cruse, inherited it in 1903 and sold it to Mr de Meslon fifty years later. He had the idea not to use Rauzan to produce a great wine but speculate on the value of the property. Something he did brilliantly by reselling the property for three times its purchase price in 1960. The buyer, a company calling Liverpool John Holt & Co, also laid hands on Eschenhauer merchant who thus became the main distributor of the wines of the castle. With this new partnership and investment it generates, Castle Rauzan Ségla found its colors and wine quality of yesteryear. The Chanel fashion house bought the property of 52 hectares in 1994, a large reconstruction program is implemented: restructuring and expansion of the vineyard, catering facilities and home. John Kolasa, then Commercial Director of Chateau Latour, is hired to direct Rauzan Ségla and rebuild the reputation of this Margaux. Note that the Wertheimer family, head of Chanel, also owns Château Canon 1st Grand Cru Classé B in Saint-Emilion. In 2008, a family property in the town of Arsac is bought and carries the property to 60 hectares. Since 2014 is the talented Nicolas Audebert is the domain of the orders. Tapered tanks and land in organic farming are some examples of innovations in this field which continues to progress in the quality of its wines, evidenced by the exceptional 2015.

In 1661, Pierre de Rauzan Desmezures acquired two properties for which he gave his name: Rauzan Rauzan and Ségla Gassies. Rauzan-Ségla since 1994 belongs to the famous Chanel, which has invested heavily in the property.
The 66 hectares of vines stretch for clay and gravel soils, the Margaux terroir. The planting of the vineyard is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, Petit Verdot 3.5% and 1.5% Cabernet Franc. Rauzan-Ségla practice sustainable farming and many other precautions contributing to the quality of Château.
The wines are aged in barrels (50% new) for 18 months.
Rauzan-Ségla 2012 is a blend of 54.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 1.5% Petit Verdot. Her dress is inked color, blue and purple hues. He exhales wonderful aromas of black fruit, toast on a slightly floral. The tannins are ripe for a fairly full-bodied mid-palate.

Reviews about Château Rauzan-Segla 2011

Formerly, Rauzan-Ségla formed with Château Rauzan-Gassies a single property. Rauzan-Ségla is named after Pierre Measures of Rauzan who bought it in 1661. Rauzan Ségla remained in the same family for two centuries and still belonged almost a century in Bordeaux merchants Cruse. This family continuity, a broken time, seems to be called again from the Wertheimer family (also owner of Chanel) in the acquisiton was in 1994. Meanwhile, this historic believed was quick to express his potential.

At present, Rauzan-Ségla is the wine that most approach with Chateau Margaux, the purest definition of Margaux. Through meticulous work in the winery and vineyards Rauzan Ségla is become a reference.

The 2011 vintage of Château Rauzan-Ségla has undeniable charm skillfully combining elegance and power. The nose offers a nose of black fruits. The palate is fruity, with a superb density of fat and a smooth texture. It will also retain its length worthy of the Great its appellation.Boire or keep: In 4-5 years and also until 2030
PAIRING: Red meat, stewed or grilled

Colour of glacé cherry. Characteristic nuts notes. It has a slightly salty final.
It wasn't well paired with food, but the wine was good and tasty.
A special red wine for someone just as special .
