Your rating for 2010 Achaval Ferrer Finca Altamira:Rate 2010 Achaval Ferrer Finca Altamira:

4 /5

The three crus of Achaval-Ferrer are among the noblest malbec wines in the world, comparable in quality to Premier Grand Cru wines of the Medoc! The terroir of the Finca Altamira, La Consulta in the Uco Valley, covers just 10 hectares and gives only 12 hectoliters per hectare (barely 1/3 bottle per vine). The vines are very old as average around 80 years old and standing at 1050 meters altitude. The optimal condition of the grapes harvested intervention in the winemaking hardly necessary. The 2010 Altamira has 16 months upbringing had on new oak (90% French and 10% American oak) and is bottled unfiltered. The Altamira Achaval Ferrer is one of the most refined Malbec there is.

I drank with my brothers.
It's red with a violet edge. Good aromas of ripe fruit. Distinctive oxidation notes on the palate.
I took this Mendoza between meals.
