Wine of Mosel - GeneralView all products in Wine of Mosel - General
The Moselle region is one of the most impressive throughout Germany. A total of 12,980 acres that follow the rivers Moselle, Saar and Ruwer, from Koblenz to the French border. 25% of vineyards are located in slopes with a steep drop into the water.
In Moselle there is a predomination of traditional late harvests and freshness of the wineries, a fact which explains the presence of unfermented sugar in bottled wine. Moselle wines, whatever their level, are never too sweet.
Among the strains of Moselle, the Riesling occupies the best locations throughout the region, leaving in second place the Müller-Thurgau strain, while Kerner strains come in third. For some years, they have been producing red varieties in the region, primarily Pinot Noir.
