Murcia produces tough wines, the ones they have always produced, but which have left aside some of that robustness to become much milder, which is what the current market trends are suggesting. In this community we find three names of origin, Yecla, Bullas and Jumilla,

Murcia wines have their own characteristics. The red wines are ruby-red in color, soft and warm on the palate, have low acidity and high alcohol content. Murcia also produces some rosé and white wines, but they are not of the same quality as the red wines.

The strains grown in Murcia are mainly Monastrell, Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache Tintorera and Cencibel, among the red grapes. The white strains Merseguera, Verdil, Airen and Macabeo are the ones cultivated almost exclusively in the territory of Murcia.
