One of the oldest estates in the Medoc. The name derives from the great battle of 1452 in which the French recaptured during the Hundred Years War, Château Latour from the English. Some years later, the first vines were planted on this ground. The garden was designed by Barillet-Deschamps, the landscape architect of Napoleon III, as well as the winery was inlet into the ranks of the Grands Crus Classé of 1855 Separation in Batailley and skin Batailley and maintaining the Grands Crus status were of the Union des Grands Crus Classé recognized. Typical opacity of a Château Batailley. Deep scent, like coffee.Very light flavour.
Highly recommend to drink it with friends at a barbecue.
A Pauillac is better to be discovered alone.
