Château Grand Puy Ducasse

When, in the middle of the 18th century, Arnaud Ducasse bought a small house on the banks of the Gironde estuary from Jacques de Ségur, Seigneur of Lafite, he could hardly have imagined that this would be the start of a considerable estate that would remain in his family for almost three centuries.

Reviews of other vintages of 2012 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse20132016

2013 is a challenging vintage. Despite a relatively late maturity, the heat of August was beneficial for the Cabernet Sauvignon. The Castle has focused lots of Cabernet Sauvignon that underpin an elegant tannic structure. As for the Merlots, they give the delicacy of the fruit. Harvesting is done manually with a first sorting in the vineyard. The grapes are sorted again by means of an optical sorting device latest generation. The wine was produced in thermo-regulated tanks. Part of Lots operates its malolactic fermentation in new barrels.
This 2013 vintage makes a comeback. Its 62% Cabernet gives it a nice tannic structure, highlighted by a generous fruit by Merlot. It will seduce you with its roundness.

I took 2 bottles of Château Grand Puy Ducasse 2016 with a former partner.
It revealed a very light colour. Aromas of dark chocolate. On the palate was quite thick.
I think the best pairing would be with meat.
