Château Lafite Rothschild 2010

Château Lafite Rothschild Lafite vineyard 2010L'histoire is old. An area that already included vines, Jacques de Segur structure vineyard at the end of the century XVIIº and reputation of this wine is already established at a good level. His son Alexander extends the area in 1695 by marrying the heiress of Latour. From this union was born Nicolas-Alexandre, who built early the XVIII century the prestige and reputation of Lafite, the wine being acclaimed in Versailles and also already in Britain. On the death of the latter, Lafite knows a succession of owners, it will be particularly auctioned after the Revolution, but the quality will be maintained at the highest level thanks to the care of its managers, the family of Joseph Goudal. Chateau Lafite will be so classified 1er cru in 1855. In 1868, Baron James de Rothschild acquires auction again, the area which has since remained property of the family. Apart from its exceptional terroir (soil deep gravel, based on marl and limestone subsoil), the quality can be explained by the average age of the vines (over 40 years), low yield hectare and a rigorous selection. In the years 1960-1970 the wines have proven a lower quality due to less strict management of the domain and the winemaking process. Since 1975, the castle, celebrated by fans worldwide, produces magnificent wines, thanks to the dynamic leadership of Eric de Rothschild. Of exceptional finesse, they display a fabulous aromatic complexity. With an impressive field, their aging potential seems unlimited.

Domaines Barons de Rothschild Pauillac Château Lafite Rothschild 2010

Clear ruby red colour. This wine from Domaines Barons de Rothschild smells like red fruit compote. I liked the Domaines Barons de Rothschild Pauillac Château Lafite Rothschild, although it tasted a bit rough.
A good Domaines Barons de Rothschild who goes well with beef stew.
A wine to drink with the closest friends.

Lafite Rothschild Pauillac 2016
We drank it with appetizers. I celebrated a special occasion with Lafite Rothschild Pauillac and my couple.
Cherry colour, low layer. Smells of hazelnuts and almonds. A surprisingly fresh wine.

It was too well-bodied for our meal. Nice chat with friends.
Dark cherry colour, medium opacity. Aromas of nuts. A little bit salty but it was very good.
