Château Mouton Rothschild 2003

In 1863, Baron Nathaniel Rothschild bought and changed from Château Mouton Pauillac to Château Mouton Rothschild.
Until 1922 the Château sofer some rough times, that only stopped when Philippe de Rothschild took charge and in 1924 had his first successful inhouse bottling.

Château Mouton arrived at its highest recognition as a great wine in 1945, since then all labels are illustrated by famous contemporary artists, such as Picasso, Chagall, Miró, etc.

Château Mouton was elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé, In recognition of a great wine: the elite of the Médoc wines.
Their wines are powerful and rich but with a sense of quality; and a velvet texture when aged. They truly are magnificent and unforgettable wines.
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties (percentages that vary from year to year - Cabernet Sauvignon is always in the majority).

Over the years many wines, and theire stories, were born in this magnificent Château. The wines will speak for themselves, they were some of the most popular wines worldwide.

Tight but promising nose of scorched earth, creme de cassis, licorice, and charcoal notes; meaty, powerful, unctuous flavors that are huge, dense, tannic, and backward

Château Mouton Rothschild 2003

The key character of this property is Phillippe de Rothschild, who takes over from him in 1922 when he was 20, and leaves him to his death in 1988. The widowed by his first wife, murdered by the Nazis in a field concentration, marries Pauline Place, American cartoonist, which influenced the creation of the museum Mouton and her husband's passion for art. His daughter, the Baroness Phillippine, successfully continuing the work of his father.
Phillippe de Rothschild Bordeaux breaks with tradition and decided in 1924 to bottle their wines in the property, rather than do the merchants in the city of Bordeaux. Get the 1855 classification only once and Mouton, who started the first of the latter amounts to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1973 is changed. Their motto speaks for itself in the way he is, "I am first, second was Mouton does not change. "

Reviews about Château Mouton Rothschild 2013

History will remember the year 2013 an unstable and unpredictable weather. A cold and wet winter followed by a cool, rainy spring, causes a delay of the vegetative cycle and disrupts flowering.
In sharp contrast, July and August are particularly hot and sunny with significantly lower than average rainfall. heat peaks at 38 ° C cause of severe thunderstorms late July.
September remains in water deficit and favors a uniform ripeness of the berries. The Cabernets are promising. The grapes reached incredible sugar with good potential acidity.
The harvest of Mouton Rothschild is conducted in record time, from 30 September to 9 October, with outstanding staff assistance of Baron Philippe de Rothschild was asked to reinforce the troops pickers.
meticulously sorted, the berries are transported in crates gravity tanks of splendid winery Mouton Rothschild. Major innovation: through transparent staves tanks, technical teams were able to observe the evolution of winemaking in every detail. Quality is at the rendezvous, despite lower production.

The 2013 vintage is a beautiful deep red color with purple highlights. The nose is very complex, marked by aromas of black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and opens the vent to spicy notes and subtle toasty. On the palate, the attack is fresh, with a nice freshness and richness, which extends over the nuances of vanilla and chocolate, all backed by extremely fine tannins. A beautiful farm structure also reveals a long finish with a profoundly aromatic intensity.

I opened this wine with my best friend.
Red ruby colour with reddish brown edges. It resembles a red fruit compote. This is what is called a fleshy wine.
The best wine in combination with grilled foie.

It is sold in many wine shops.
It's red with a violet edge. Candy aromas. I fellt it fleshy in mouth.

Ihad it with my friends at home.
Cherry, high layer. Main smell of caramel. Berry flavour.
We drank it just like that, without food to accompany.

It had a very deep colour. It smells like sweets. Very soft.
