2017 Château Malartic-Lagravière (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)
- View: deep purple garnet.
- Nose: baked blueberries, blackberries, pencil and pastel spice, hints of chocolate box, menthol and cassis.
- Mouth: The palate of luxurious, soft, juicy and expressive medium bodied with a spicy finish.
VINEYARD: 46 hectares of vineyards of red grapes. Well-drained soil and gravel subsoil of limestone and clay.
GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc.
AGEING: traditionally aged in French oak barrels (70% new).
PREPARATION: thermoregulated vinification in stainless steel or oak. 25 days fermentation approximately 28 ° C to 30 ° C.
WINE PAIRING: sausages, red meat and game.
Domaine de Lagravière set on the oldest terroir of the Bordeaux vineyards was purchased at the end of the 18th century by the family of Maurès de Malartic. The 53 hectares of this Pessac-Léognan extend over a magnificent severe croup. The grape varieties of red is made from 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
The wines are aged in oak barrels (50 to 70% new) for 15 to 22 months.
This Château Malartic Lagravière 2012 presents a purple dress. The nose offers aromas of blackcurrant and liquorice, underlined with a hint of smoke. A balanced wine, dense and in length.
