2016 Les Demoiselles de Larrivet Haut Brion Blanc

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Color bright yellow opalescent with reflections of light green gold.
  • Nose: Fresh wine, which first produces iodine and mineral aromas and develops its complexity, citrus notes of acacia and white fruit.
  • Mouth: The attack is fresh and the taste is round, fruity, with woodsy and burnt notes, the finish is long and slightly acid and mineral.

APPELLATION: Pessac-Léognan

VINEYARD: Although often change names, domain dates from the first half of the nineteenth century. Purchased in 1987, the castle expanded from 17 to 72 hectares, and modernized. This worthy representative of Pessac-Leognan is now one of the leaders in the region.

GRAPES: 74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Semillon vines 25 years old on average.

Aging: Aged in oak barrels (50%), small wooden barrels (30%) and concrete egg (20%) for 11 months with regular delivery of lees in suspension by stirring or rolling.PREPARATION: "Les Demoiselles d'Larrivet" red and white wines are the second of the castle, but receive the same attention as the great vintages. 9 hectares reserved for this wine is mainly harvested by hand in boxes, carefully vinified at the winery and bottled on the property.
