Pétrus wines seem to deserve all the superlatives attributed to them and the almost mystical devotion to wine aficionados. It is a unique, more concentrated and rich wine of Pomerol. However, despite its power, the secret of Pétrus greatness lies in its remarkable balance and penetrating aroma, which differ not only from the rest of Pomerols but also from other wines.

This unique character is due to the nature of the soil of his vineyards. Both surface and underground clay predominates, contrary to all its neighbors where abundant sand. The vines are very old, thanks in part to Mr. Loubat (owner) refused to start the vineyard after the disastrous frosts of 1956 and waited patiently for strains recovered.

Jean-Cleaude Berrouet, one of the world's most renowned winemakers in charge of winemaking. When the best grapes are picked in the best conditions and with controlled yields fermentation is finished, imposed a strict selection of the best wines to be blended to achieve the Pétrus. Often more than half of the wine is rejected, being used in children generic wines.

Pairing: Your incredible delicacy tells us it will be a good companion for small game dishes, those of taste not very high power to enable us to appreciate the subtlety of a wine of such characteristics.

Chateau Petrus 2015
I bought it at the behest of a friend.
It has a red colour with brown edges. Raspberry. A red fairly astringent.
This Bordeaux is a good time killer while waiting for the food.

At a bar in Pomerol.
Wrong colour, reddish brown edges. It smells toasty. I found it quite light.
